Amazon Games recently releasedNew World, an MMO that has blown up in popularity since it was released.New Worldplayers have discovered some issues with the game, including one player who discovered an infinite stun hammer exploit.
Reddit user Murdering_My_Time recently posted a clip in which he happened upon anotherNew Worldplayer while exploring the world of Aeternum. As they entered a corrupted area, Murdering_My_Time ran into another player called OKEEt who was fighting a Plainsblot Swarmer. Although both players worked together to defeat the Swarmer, OKEEt quickly turned their attention to Murdering_My_Time.

With one quick blow, OKEEt kept Murdering_My_Time’sNew Worldcharacter grounded, continuously utilizing an infinite stun hammer exploit. Combining certain skills with gear that optimizes it allows this player to effectively keep an enemy immobilized. According to Murdering_My_Time, they were repeatedly pressing the dodge key which mostly was ineffective as the massive hammer repeatedly slammed them into the ground.
While Murdering_My_Time was being attacked by OKEEt, the stun hammer connected with the grounded player over a dozen times. Although OKEEt was able to keep Murdering_My_Time stunned as long as they were attacking, the clip posted to Reddit ends with them retreating as the pummeled character sought revenge. Murdering_My_Time was able to survive this infinite stun hammer exploit by utilizing the combination ofNew World’s Life Staffand Hatchet.
Because the Life Staff and Hatchet weapon combination is equally as dangerous inNew World, Murdering_My_Time still stood a chance in a one-on-one fight against the infinite stun hammer exploit. Combat exploits aren’t the only ones thatNew Worldfans are coming across as players have also discovered several exploits that extend into other aspects of the MMO. One of the major exploits players have found allowsNew WorldCompaniesto easily gain territory.
New Worldplayers like OKEEt are able to spam certain abilities by swapping weapons and pressing the skill while dragging theNew Worldwindow around at the same time. Through this exploit, no ability goes on cooldown, including abilities that knock and stun and these players aren’t currently beingbanned by Amazon Games. SeveralNew Worldplayers have responded to Murdering_My_Time by stating they’ve experienced a similar issue with the Feral Rush ability being used against them repeatedly.
Although Murdering_My_Time survived the stun-riddled duel, it’s likely that if OKEEt had a partner with them in the fight, the Reddit user wouldn’t have survived. Although this issue has been reported to Amazon Games, it’s currently unclear whenNew Worldplayers can expect an update that prevents ability spam. Because this exploit can be used inNew World’s PvPas well as PvE, it causes some players to get a competitive edge and creates a lot of frustration and disbelief.
