AnOverwatch 2player lived the dream of D.Va players with a well-placed and well-timed ultimate. D.Va’s self-destructing mech is often used for zone control by forcing the enemy team to abandon their position or get blown up in one hit. In the case of this amusing Play of the Game, the entire enemy team simply ignored their impending doom. Defeating an entire team with a single ability, afeat recently performed by a Lucio playeris always satisfying.

D.Va’s unique play style has stood the test of time from the original roster ofOverwatchto today’sOverwatch 2. While piloting her mech D.Va provides offensive and defensive support to her team, it is her ultimate ability that warps entire matches. Hopping out of her mech triggers a 3-second countdown, telegraphed with clear audio and visual cues. At the end of the countdown, D.Va’s mech explodes over a wide area dealing damage to all enemies within the blast radius, from 1000 damage down to 100 based on proximity. Another recentOverwatch 2clip of an unlucky Reaper player, demonstrates that while bad luck can be frustrating while playing, for spectators it is often hilarious.

Shared on theOverwatch 2subreddit the following clip shows JO3Y’s team trying to defend their payload while the enemy team swarms in from one side. JO3Y is standing to one side while the rest of their team goes head-on against the enemies which proves to be the key behind this Play of the Game. None of the opposing teams have a direct line of sight when JO3Y accelerates the mech and sends it toward the payload.

In the comments of the clip, JO3Y explains that their thought process was just to try and zone the enemy off of the payload. The enemy team unexpectedly grouped, and the opposing Sigma was distracted. With no shields and grouped within the maximum damage zone of D.Va’s ult, the enemy team was all blown up resulting in a very satisfying team kill. Plays like this one from JO3Y are part of whyOverwatch 2fans want the on-fire meter to make a return.

Overwatch 2has stabilized since the initial rocky launch resulting in a steady stream of impressive and often hilarious clips. One D.Va player that recently picked up the game had aninadvertent Play of the Game using D.Va’s ultimate.

Overwatch 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
