WithOverwatch 2in its early stages of release in what is likely a several-year project, fans continue to check the cosmetic shop but remain unimpressed by the latest offerings. Like other live service titles, Activision Blizzard’sOverwatch 2has a rotating daily shop that may look significantly different one day from another, and yesterday’s items have garnered some negative attention.
Although the originalOverwatchcosmetics that were acquired through loot boxes and other microtransactions have carried over toOverwatch 2, some new fans are anticipating impressive skins akin to the ones previously earned through RNG.Overwatch 2was released with a battle passthat introduced plenty of cosmetics of its own for players to work towards, but given the requirements for unlocking the Mythic Genji skin, some fans are hoping for a more similar direct purchase option in the shop.

Reddit user KirikoOW recently posted a screenshot of theOverwatch 2shop rotation for October 11, and the majority of replies are critical of the current live service offerings in the hero shooter. KirikoOW’s screenshot focuses on anOverwatch 2skin for Baptiste, Merry Outlaw Ashe Bundle, Kiriko Epic Offer, and the Cyber Detective Sojourn Bundle, which are available at different rates. The cheapest option is the Baptiste skin which costs a still considerable 1,000OverwatchCoins, while the most expensive bundle is for Sojourn at 2,200 coins. Though the Baptiste skin stands alone at the lower price, the Ashe bundle comes with a weapon charm, and the other two bundles include even more cosmetic goodies.
Other than the Kiriko bundle, each of the skins included in theOverwatch 2shop page highlighted by KirikoOW share design similarities in hiding their eyes, with Sojourn being the freshest character with few existing skins to compare to. Although someOverwatch 2players have been requesting thereturn of theOverwatch"on fire" meteror the missing Numbani map, others are just waiting for more unique options in the shop. Given that the coins roughly equate to 100 for each dollar spent, this means thatOverwatch 2players using the shop on October 11 could be spending up to $22 for just one of the available bundles.
Though many originalOverwatchplayers expressed gratitude for the fact that they had unlocked so many things through loot boxes over the years, others lamented thatOverwatch 2is less rewardingthan the first game. Some Angry Joe fans took the opportunity to criticize the $10 cost of “blue” Baptiste, while otherHalo Infiniteplayers debated whether the 343 Industries microtransactions are better or worse than the currentOverwatch 2offerings.
