Overwatch 2: Wrath of the Bride and PvE Gameplay
As has been tradition for theOverwatchfranchise for some time,Overwatch 2recently received its first major seasonal contentupdate with this year’s Halloween Terror event. The Wrath of the Bride mission is one of two core PvE mission types included in this update, with Junkenstein’s Revenge being more of a wave-based survival mode.
Wrath of the Bride is a four player co-op mission, concerning the newOverwatch 2heroes as well as Ashe. Players have to progress through a map completing different objectives, periodically fighting mini-bosses that culminate in an intense boss fight. With a series ofchallenges tied to Wrath of the Bride, replayability is clearly a huge factor of this PvE experience, encouraging fans to play multiple times to unlock rewards. Certain in-game objectives can be random and varied to some extent with each playthrough.
Wrath of the Bride borrows some of this replayable design from the Junkenstein saga ofprevious Halloween Terror events, but nevertheless, it is clear when considering all of this why Wrath of the Bride may be a fantastic indicator for how the eventual PvE campaign operates. A high level of replayability could be a key tenet of what the anticipated PvE campaign will offer fans next year.
Overwatch 2is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
