SinceOverwatch 2was released last year, many players have come up with unique plays to thwart their enemies, including this genius way of avoiding death utilizing Sigma’s Ultimate ability. BecauseOverwatch 2has a diverse roster of heroes, there are tons of abilities that can be used in countless ways, and this player may have found the best use of Sigma’s Ult.
Sigma was introduced to theOverwatchfranchise with an update during the original title, but the tank hero also received his own changes whenOverwatch 2launched. Offering a useful barrier and projectiles that ricochet off of surfaces to hit enemies at an angle, Sigma also has a big crowd control maneuver in his Ultimate called Gravitic Flux. When Sigma unleashesGravitic Flux inOverwatch 2, it’s usually used to lift and slam enemy players, but one fan has utilized the floating aspect of the Ultimate to their benefit.

Reddit user Prettymuchzoinks has garnered 6,300 upvotes on a clip in which they’re fending off an enemyOverwatch 2team as Sigma on the hybrid map Paraiso to minimal avail. TheOverwatch 2Sigmauses the Accretion skill to slam an enemy Reinhardt’s shield before quickly throwing down a barrier to absorb damage from the opposing tank’s Ultimate ability. Potentially frustrated by the well-timed block, theOverwatch 2Reinhardt charges at Sigma and successfully grabs the tank hero as they both sail off the side of Paraiso and start falling to their death.
Although the Reinhardt falls to their death as they’re unable to return to theOverwatch 2Paraiso map, Prettymuchzoinks pops their Ultimate ability and swiftly coasts back to their team and are able to hit a Soldier 76 with Gravitic Flux. An alliedOverwatch 2Ana powers up Sigma during this brief onslaught which turned a near-death for Prettymuchzoinks into a triple kill which helped their team fend off the other. Given that the Reinhardt fell to their death at almost the precise moment that Prettymuchzoinks used Sigma’s Ult, it’s likely that they would’ve died too if they tried using this trick just one moment later.
Because the clip concludes before thecompetitiveOverwatch 2match finishes, it’s currently unclear if the play led to a victory, but the Sigma Ultimate ability may have played a role if it did. Prettymuchzoinks' video joins several other tricks that may help others prevent their own downfalls in the future should they be holding on to an Ultimate ability on Paraiso or other precariousOverwatch 2maps.
