Overwatchfans have plenty to be excited about when it comes to this year’s Summer Games. Not only is Lucio Ball returning, but the newOverwatchskins are proving to be memorable — and Mei’s new look is no different.
The first two skins revealed for Summer Games 2021focus on Symmetraand Ashe. For the turret-loving Damage hero, a Mermaid look is used, with the design fitting well with her personality and sense of style. As for Ashe, she gets a poolside look that sees her wearing a straw hat and replacing her Viper rifle with a squirt gun. Bob finds himself with a flamingo floatie on his head, too. However, while the reaction to both skins was great, it seems like Mei’s new design is the one that has truly blown fans away.

The skin seesthe always controversial Meidressed as if she worked at an ice cream shop. Everything about the outfit is superb, with Mei wearing an adorable diner outfit that is covered in bows. The bows are red to match her skirt and tie, with Mei also wearing some red lipstick and glasses to add to the look. Her gloves and shoes boast a fancy design, though the leggings are the real star of the show in terms of Mei’s outfit. Covered in sprinkles, they complete the ice cream-focused design and explain its name.
WhileOverwatchfanswill surely notice the adorable hat on Mei’s head, as it is just as small as the one worn by Tracer in her Cadet Oxton skin, the blonde hair is also impossible to miss. A major change from Mei’s usual brown color, it could take some getting used to for fans of the hero. Still, it fits perfectly with the hero’s shop worker aesthetic, matching the white and red uniform incredibly well. As is the case with other legendary skins inOverwatch, Mei’s weaponry matches the new skin.
The device on Mei’s back is filled with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream. It also reads “frost,” with her gun doing the same. Instead of a normal handle, an ice cream cone is seen, with Mei seen holding her weapon at the end of the short. However, it would not be a Mei skin without a redesign for Snowball, and the tiny robot takes the form of an ice cream cone this time around. With sprinkles and fudge on top, Mei’s useful companion looks terrific. Overall, the skin is remarkably similar to afan-madeOverwatchconcepta few months back, so perhaps Blizzard looked to it for inspiration.
Regardless, this new Mei skin looks spectacular, and those that are interested will want to hop intoOverwatchto unlock her. Withthe Summer Games eventrunning until August 10, gamers have three full weeks to pick up Sprinkles Mei.
Overwatchis available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
