PlayStationfans are always looking for unique items to add to their collections, and one gamer is collecting something special. The loyalPlayStationgamer has added six specially made PS1 cases to their game lineup, with each made for a different FromSoftware title.
This is hardly the first time that fans have shown off a custom game case based on the original PlayStation’s format. Recently, a custom-madeRatchet and Clank: Rift Apartcasesaw the PS5 title thrown back in time, with fans seeing how its case would have looked several generations ago. While game cases are all very similar when it comes to their formatting nowadays, the PS1 cases stood out, as they were far smaller. The CD-like square packaging remains nostalgic for many, with JamboMode1985 clearly loving the look.

The fan has tracked down special PS1 designs for the FromSoftware games online, either buying them or having them custom made. This hunt has resulted in six different cases, all of which look incredible. On the top row, players will seetheDark Soulstrilogyin all its glory. The fan chooses the most content-filled editions of each game when it comes to these covers, withDark Souls Remasteredand theScholar of the First Sinversion ofDark Souls 2showcased.Dark Souls 3’sFire Fades Editionalso appears, with its unique art represented well. With the original covers seen all the time, it is nice to see these variants getting some love.
The bottom row features the games that are not part of theDark Soulsseries. First up isBloodborne, with gamers able to see the Hunter and thegothic horror setting of Yharnameasily on the PS1 case. Next up is the action focusedSekiro: Shadows Die Twice, with players easily able to see Wolf above the PlayStation logo. Finally, there isDemon’s Souls, the predecessor toDark Soulsthat has recently been remade for the PlayStation 5. While Bluepoint’s remake is stunning, it would be fun to see something like the Dragon God get a PS1 makeover.
As referenced in the comments, these cases would go perfectly with some demakes. Fittingly,aBloodbornedemakehas been making the rounds recently, giving players a look at what the PlayStation exclusive would look like if it launched a few decades earlier. The PlayStation 1 version is a lot of fun to watch, with even a proper boss battle against Father Gascoigne included. While these cases will likely be used to hold the discs of the modern versions of the games, it is still interesting to see some appreciation for the early days of PlayStation.
