Summary
APokemonfan has recently designed new prehistoric versions for Pidgey, Pidgeotto, and Pidgeot. Ever since the release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, mostPokemonfan artists have been excited about drawing future and past versions of creatures. Following this trend, this creator came up with an alternative concept for past-inspired forms, “fossilmon” versions of these Flying/Normal-type creatures.
Gamers who playedPokemon Blue and Redprobably remember Pidgey and its evolutions. While these bird Pokemon are likely not the most popular creatures belonging tothe first generation ofPokemongames, these critters were quite common in the early parts of the journey and participated in the teams of many players.

Now, thePokemonfan artist KarielD shared their latest creation, “fossilmon” versions of Pidgey, Pidgeotto, and Pidgeot. The design of these creatures is greatly inspired by velociraptors, and it maintains the same colors and overall shape as the original Pokemon but greatly changes their bird aspects to look more like a dinosaur. For instance, the prehistoric Pidgey looks almost the same, but it has four claws instead of two, its beak gains teeth, and it comes with a lizard-like tail. The same treatment is given to Pidgeotto and Pidgeot.
Prehistoric Pidgey and Its Evolutions Pokemon Fan Art
Fan art of Past Paradox forms has become very popular sincePokemon Scarlet and Violet’s debut, as reimagining popular monsters in dinosaur-inspired forms often ignites the creativity of fans. Earlier this year, a fan madepast Paradox forms for Cubone and Rhydon. In these new designs, Cubone’s form was inspired by a triceratops, and Rhydon became a huge lizard with an ice horn.
Another good-looking example of a dinosaur-inspiredPokemonfan art appeared last year as Silver Tide, apast Paradox form for Lugia. This creation stood out due to mixing Lugia’s original design with a new plesiosaurus form, and its shiny version was greatly inspired by Shadow Lugia fromPokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.
Prehistoric forms are not the only way Pidgey has been reimagined in fan art, though. Last month, a Pokemon fan designed anElectric-type Paldean Pidgey. This regional variant was an Electric/Flying-type bird that had dark blue and grey feathers with yellow details instead of the original colors. While the next majorPokemongame,Pokemon Legends: Z-A, is not released, it’s likely that fans will continue to come up with amazing fan art greatly inspired by the franchise’s latest hit, be it dinosaur-inspired monsters or future-based critters.
