Ever since the dawn of thePokemonfranchise and Pikachu’s grand unveiling,Electric-type Pokemonhave held a special place in the hearts of many. Interestingly though, neither Pikachu nor its evolved form Raichu has ever really been considered top-tier Pokemon and this is once again the case inPokemon Legends: Arceus.

Despite many great Electric-types failing to feature in the Hisui Pokedex, the little electric mice still lag some way behind the best Electric-types inPokemon Legends: Arceus. The good news is that the majority of these shockingly powerful Pokemon can be found fairly on in the game’s main story, meaning that those looking to build a balanced team won’t need to wait until the post-game to get started.

In truth, Luxray is a fairly mediocre Pokemon, but there’s surprisingly little competition inPokemon Legends: Arceus, at least when it comes to pure Electric-types, anyway. What’s more, Luxray and its unevolved forms are obtainable very early on in the game and so provide a great option for those looking to add anElectric-typeto their team straight away. Its 120 Attack stat will no doubt come in handy, and it should be sturdy enough to take players all the way through toPokemon Legends: Arceus' post-game contentif needed. Luxray is best with aBrave nature.

How to Get Luxray in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Players can find Luxray in the Sandgem Flats area of the Obsidian Fieldlands as well as in the Heavenward Lookout, Sacred Plaza, Sonorous Path, and Cloudcap Pass areas of the Coronet Highlands. Alternatively, its unevolved forms Shinx and Luxio can both be found in numerous areas throughout the Obsidian Fieldlands, while the latter also shows up throughout the Coronet Highlands. Shinx evolves into Luxio at Level 15 and Luxio evolves into Luxray at Level 30.

Electivire offers a noticeable upgrade over Luxray thanks to its marginally higher Attack stat and far superior speed. The pureElectric-typeis also a bit more sturdy, but only when up against Special attackers. Due to its high Attack and low Defense stats, players should look for an Electivire with aLonely nature.

How to Get Electivire in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Players can catch an Alpha Electivire near the cave leading up to the Temple of Sinnoh in the Cloudcap Pass area of the Coronet Highlands. Its unevolved forms Elekid and Electabuzz can also be found here, as well as in the Icebound Falls and Arena’s Approach areas of the Alabaster Icelands. Elekid evolves into Electabuzz at Level 30 and Electabuzz evolves into Electivire when exposed to an Electirizer; a special evolution item that can be found inspace-time distortions, dug up with Ursaluna, or traded forMerit Pointsin Jubilife Vilage.

Jolteon has a lot going for it, but its biggest asset is definitely its speed. With a Speed stat of 130, very few Pokemon will be acting before the pureElectric-type, all but guaranteeing that Jolteon will have a chance to put its impressive 110 Special Attack stat to use. Even if it doesn’t act first, Jolteon should still be able to stand up to most Special attackers reasonably well, though will fold like paper if hit with anything Physical. To get the best out of their Jolteon, players should look for one with aHasty nature.

How to Get Jolteon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

In order to get Jolteon, players will need to evolve Eevee using a Thunder Stone, both of which can be found inside certain space-time distortions. Eevee also shows up in the Horseshoe Plains area of the Obsidian Fieldlands, the Crossing Slope area of the Cobalt Coastlands, and the Avalanche Slopes area of the Alabaster Icelands. As for Thunder Stones, those having trouble finding one in a space-time distortion can insteaddig one with Ursalunaor trade one for Merit Points at the item exchange counter in Jubilife Village.

It may be a little on the slow side, but actually keeping up with Magnezone in battle is a lot easier said than done. Its 130 Special Attack stat is mightily impressive for a non-Legendary Pokemon, while its defenses should be more than adequate in most situations too. TheElectric / Steel-typeisn’t quite a top-tier Pokemon in the wider franchise, though, due to absences, it’s easily one of the very best Electric-types inPokemon Legends: Arceus; better still if it has aQuiet nature.

How to Get Magnezone in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Players can catch Magnezone and its unevolved forms Magnemite and Magneton inside space-time distortions in the Cobalt Coastlands area. Magnemite evolves into Magneton at Level 30 and players can evolve Magneton into Magnezone by taking it to Mount Coronet in the Coronet Highlands region. Alternatively, players can use a Thunder Stone to evolve Magneton, but given how hard these can be to come by, most players will opt for the highlands trip.

One of the original Forces of Nature, Thundurus offers the best of both worlds. While in its Incarnate Forme, theElectric / Flying-typeis speedy and balanced, but switching to its Therian Forme allows players to further emphasize its biggest strength: Special Attack. Though this does come at the expense of a little speed, Thundurus' 145 Special Attack stat will tear through most Pokemon with relative ease. Players can increase this stat even further simply by finding a Thundurus that has aMild Nature.

How to Get Thundurus in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

To catch Thundurus, players will first need tocomplete the main storyand then work their way through the post-game content until they’vecaught Giratina inside the Turnback Cave. They’ll then be able to speak with Cogita to unlock Request #94, which will require them to catch the four Forces of Nature. Thundurus shows up in the water near the Coastland Campsite in the Cobalt Coastlands area, though only when there’s a storm taking place. Players may therefore need to repeatedly rest until they get the weather pattern that they need. When Thundurus does finally show up, they’ll need to hit it with a Poke Ball to lower its shield and then quickly engage it in battle before the shield goes back up. To switch between the Pokemon’s Incarnate and Therian forms, players will need the Reveal Glass, which is obtained by returning to Cogita aftercatching Enamorusand completing its Pokedex entry.
