APokemon Scarlet and Violetplayer has discovered a nearly foolproof strategy to help players solo the usually difficult Charizard raids of Paldea. Just like withPokemon Sword and Shield,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetinclude raids that players can take on as additional challenges on top of the gym trial, the Path of Legends, or Starfall Street. And some fans are looking for tips to take on powerful battles like the one against Charizard alone.
Reddit user Conjunctivious recently shared a text-based tips post forPokemon Scarlet and Violet, specifying that they were able to beat the seven-star Charizard raid battle with a ninety percent success rate. If aPokemon Scarlet and Violetraid battle is beyond a certain difficulty, many players struggle to solo the creature and are required to group up with other players to defeat the Pokemon within. WhilePokemon Sword and Shieldintroduced raid battles to the franchise, the Gigantamax and Dynamax Pokemon forms have given way toTerastallized Pokemon, which are the new coveted forms that can be found in thePokemon Scarlet and Violetregion of Paldea.

According to Conjunctivious, the requirements to successfully beat this seven-starPokemon Scarlet and VioletCharizard raidare the ancient form of Misdreavus known as Flutter Mane with the Fairy Terastalization form, the Convert Cloak item, and specific stats. The Flutter Mane should have a modest nature with 252 Special Attack, 252 Special Defense, and 6 health points, as well as the moves Calm Mind, Draining Kiss, Fake Tears, and Moonblast. The logic behind these prerequisites is Flutter Mane’s Special Defense and Attack being an ideal counter to Charizard’s Special Attack combined with Convert Cloak’s ability to inhibit Charizard’s ability to burn or confuse the trainer’s Pokemon.
Delving into thePokemon Scarlet and Violetmovesthat players should use in the Charizard raid battle, Conjunctivious states that Calm Mind should be used twice, followed by Fake Tears three times before going on the attack with Moonblast and healing occasionally with Draining Kiss. Calm Mind and Fake Tears will debuff the Charizard while increasing the stats of the Flutter Mane, which means the seven-star Charizard will get weaker as the allied Pokemon gets stronger. Accounting for multiple factors, Conjunctivious also clarified thatPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers should use Draining Kiss more frequently as soon as Charizard uses Sunny Day, which is the primary thing that they’ll have to worry about using this strategy.
As manyPokemonfans expressed enthusiasm for Conjunctivious' strategy that may help them defeatPokemon Scarlet and VioletCharizard raids, others dropped their own tips that resulted in the same conclusion. Although one fan pointed out that thePokemon Scarlet and Violetraid rotationchanged to not include the aforementioned Charizard raid, Conjunctivious stated that it’s coming back in the next few weeks, leaving players plenty of time to acquire the necessary Flutter Mane.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare available now for Nintendo Switch.
