Summary

Pokemon Sleepis introducing a new item called the Good-Night Ribbon that will provide helpful boosts and bonuses to any Pokemon it’s awarded to. The item will be added in an upcoming update, butPokemon Sleephas already provided details on how it will work.

Pokemon Sleephad an extremely successful first year financially, and it seems the title is working to maintain that momentum going into its second. As a much more passive app thanPokemon GO, players' main goal is to have the best night sleep possible to attract new Pokemon and gain tasty ingredients for their camp’s Snorlax.Pokemon Sleepwill now be adding a new feature that benefits the Pokemon fans snooze with the most.

Pokemon Sleep’s new Good-Night Ribbon will be awarded to Pokemon based on how long they’ve slept beside the player. Starting at 200 hours of sleep shared with a single Pokemon, the Good-Night Ribbon will be added to a Pokemon’s profile and start conveying bonuses. The bonuses start out with increasing thePokemon’s carry limit, and if the Pokemon can still evolve, it will also get a bonus to its helping speed. At the third tier level, players will also unlock a special profile icon of the awarded Pokemon. The new feature will launch in August.

The Pokemon bonuses stack, so every tier reached will add extra benefits to the Pokemon. For example, a Pokemon that reaches Ribbon level 3 will be able to carry six more items than a similar Pokemon who has no ribbons. The Ribbons are also intended to help compensate for shortcomings withbaby Pokemonand other pre-evolutionary forms, as they tend to be slower and carry less than their evolved counterparts. A charming video trailer imagines Pokemon Sleep’s new Good-Night Ribbon as being an extension of celebrating a favorite Pokemon as a child.

•Ribbon level 1: 200 hours of sleeping time shared

• Carry limit +1

•Ribbon level 2: 500 hours of sleeping time shared

• Carry limit +2

• If the Pokémon can still evolve once (example: Pikachu), its helping frequency is shortened by 5%

• If the Pokémon can still evolve twice (example: Pichu), its helping frequency is shortened by 11%

•Ribbon level 3: 1,000 hours of sleeping time shared

• Carry limit +3

• Special profile icon of that helper Pokémon

•Ribbon level 4: 2,000 hours of sleeping time shared

• If the Pokémon can still evolve once (example: Pikachu), its helping frequency is shortened by 7% (for a total of 12% shorter)

• If the Pokémon can still evolve twice (example: Pichu), its helping frequency is shortened by 14% (for a total of 25% shorter)

It’s worth noting that in order to achieve the final ribbon level, players would need to get eight hours of sleep consistently for 250 nights, all while keeping the same helper Pokemon in the party. Rotating helper Pokemon to increase their levels and to take advantage of the types of ingredients they bring and the type of help they provide is useful, so getting a Pokemon to max ribbon level could be an arduous feat.

However, forPokemon Sleepfans who love keeping afavorite Pokemonin their group, this will be a cute and passive way to celebrate their favorite and gain some perks as a bonus.
