WhilePokemon SwordandPokemon Shieldhave been out for quite a while, the two games are about to get a jolt of life in the form of a new DLC expansion. While some fans fearedthe DLC expansion would get delayed, there has been no official confirmation of the sort.
SwordandShield’s Isle of Armor DLC expansion is right away the corner and players are no doubt eager to jump in and explore the new content. In celebration of the upcoming expansion, The Pokemon Company is distributing free Pokemon via mystery gift, with the first being a Galarian Mr. Mime with its hidden ability.

As manyPokemonfans know,SwordandShieldwill be receiving to DLC expansions called The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. While The Crown Tundra expansion is set to release sometime during the Fall of 2020, The Isle of Armor is set to release sometime this summer. There has been a lot of new content detailed for these expansion, but thankfully there are resources out there for players to get familiar witheverything they need to know before the releaseof The Isle of Amor expansion.
Additionally, some leaks have suggested thatthe DLC will provide new movesfor Pokemon to learn. Before the expansion, players can get even more prepared by getting some free Pokemon as mystery gifts leading up to the expansion’s release. The first of these mystery gift Pokemon is a Galarian Mr. Mime with its hidden ability – Ice Body. Players will be able to get this Mr. Mime until May 28 by going to theMystery Gifttab, selectingget a gift, and thenGet via the internet.
The Pokemon Company isn’t stopping with just Mr. Mime, though. There will be three more free Pokemon to pick upthroughout the end of May and into June. These Pokemon will be a Galarian Ponyta with Anticipation, a Galarian Corsola with Cursed Body, and a Galarian Meowth with Unnerve. Additionally, each free Pokemon is arriving alongside the chance to receive some free items through mystery gifts as well. Ponyta will be available from May 29 to June 4, Corsola from June 5 to June 11, and Meowth on June 12. Snagging these free Pokemon only take a few minutes and is totally worth it.
The Isle of Armor DLC expansion takes place on an island off the coast of the Galar region, making for a perfect summertime experience. Even the real worldPokemon Center stores are ready for summer vacation, stocking up with summer themed clothing and merchandise. With many people being stuck indoors this summer, at least players will be able to soak up the sun inPokemon SwordandShield.
