The successful launch ofPokemon Legends: Arceushas many excited about where the franchise could go in the future, but gamers are still finding cute and thought-provoking details inside this latest installment of the series. One recent discovery is linked to fan-favorite Pokemon Porygon-Z, a digital entity that somehow got stuck in Sinnoh’s distant past with the player. A number ofPokemon Legends: Arceusplayers have found that Porygon-Z has an adorably weird sleep animation connected to its unique nature.

Porygon-Z is the final stage of the Porygon evolution line, which was the first artificial Pokemon to be created. In mostPokemongames, players must trade Porygon and its first evolution, Porygon2, in order to make them evolve. However,Pokemon Legends: Arceusmake evolving a Porygon-Zeasier by taking out the trading requirement.

Redditor pokettopals recently shared a short video drawing attention to Porygon-Z’s adorably creepy sleep animation, which shows the little Pokemon floating in midair and twitching uncontrollably.Porygon is beloved by fansdue to its nature as a digital Pokemon, and its evolutions are also data entities manifesting into the physical world. However, Porygon-Z is unique because, unlike its previous stages, this Pokemon is explicitly glitching in-universe.

According to various Pokedex entries, Porygon-Z was created by adding additional software to Porygon2 designed to allow the creature to travel through alien dimensions. While this appears to have worked, it also had some strange side effects–namely, it caused the Pokemon to begin twitching uncontrollably and show erratic behavior.

Although this may be seen by some as unsettling,Porygon’s return to thePokemonanimesuggests that more fans find it cute than creepy. Regardless,Pokemon Legends: Arceusshows Porygon-Z twitching periodically while awake, so it may not be a surprise to learn that the little digital duck also twitches during its sleep animation. Another fan, YouTuber LuckyPunch, caught a video that shows Porygon-Z twitching while both awake and asleep.

This animation may resemble a programming issue, but the issue is likely limited to Porygon-Z’s in-universe programming. The Pokemon is notorious for its odd behavior–itsPokemon Legends: ArceusPokedexentry even notes that the writer is worried about it. As of writing, it appears that several other fans also find Porygon-Z’s glitchy sleep animation adorable. One user declared that Porygon-Z was busy dreaming about being in aCall of Dutymatch with 100+ ping, while a second user shared a theory that the Pokemon was just experiencing a bit of lag.
