Red Dead Onlineis full of surprises. The online multiplayer experience is continuing to be built upon by Rockstar and players find much to do even after countless hours of playing time. What some may not expect, however, is discovering entirely unreleased regions forRed Dead Onlinewhen exploring the dangerous terrains of the open west. That is apparently what just happened.
In the past, players ofRed Dead Redemption 2have found hidden locationssuch as Mexico and Guarma. In the case of this particular find, a player appears to have glitched to Mexico while playingRed Dead Online.

Reddit user u/hafooni uploaded a video to r/RedDeadOnline recently in which they found themselves in what appears to be Mexico in the wild west online game. The player completed a bounty and when they spawned back in the game, they were North of the San Luis River and in an area that players are not normally supposed to be.Red Deadveterans may rememberMexico from the originalRed Dead Redemption. Seeing the bright orange sandy deserts of Mexico in the current iteration ofRed Deadwould be exciting.
What is still unknown is whether or not this strange area inRed Dead Onlineis simply a glitch or an incomplete area that may one point be filled in with missions, animal life, enemies, buildings, and so on. Players have found ways to get outside of the map in video games for decades, and this could simply be another example of that. In this particular case, u/hafooni did not do much exploring and the area looked barren. However, it could be a taste of what will eventually be around the corner with added content to the online western title.
Especially since thestandalone release ofRed Dead Online, the game has seen a lot of growth and Rockstar continues to support the title in interesting ways. The idea of expanding on the regions seems like something that would be very realistic. And with the fact that an area like Mexico was in the originalRed Dead Redemption, the area would make a lot of sense.
WhileRed Dead Onlineis not quiteGrand Theft Auto Online,it has very much come a long way. If Rockstar wants the game to reach the same heights asGTA Online, it needs to support the game aggressively.Red Dead Onlinehas potential in ways thatGTA Onlinedoes not. In some ways, region expansions ofRed Dead Onlinegives the game the opportunity to live on endlessly; Mexico would be an excellent example of that.
Red Dead Onlineis available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
