Summary

SomeResident Evil 4remake fans have just spotted suspicious activity on Steam that may indicate that there’s an update coming up soon. While it’s still early to know if this could mean that theeagerly awaitedSeparate WaysDLCwill be out soon, many fans are hoping that’s the case.

TheResident Evil 4remake was a major hit. Recently, Capcom revealed that theResident Evil 4remake sold five million copiesin only four months. It’s a pretty good mark for a remake, especially considering that titles likeResident Evil Villagetook five months to reach that same number. Naturally, then, fans are eager to know what future updates the game has for them.

Now, aResident Evilfan profile called Resident Evil Polska spotted something very unusual that may indicate there’s more content coming up forResident Evil 4. According to the profile, SteamDB shows that several files were recently added toRE4on Steam and that they kept being updated for over eight hours, which could potentially mean that the update is large. Resident Evil Polska also wondered if this only meant that there was an update coming up, or “something more.”

Fans who are closely following theResident Evil 4remake probably know what “something more” means: theSeparate WaysDLC, featuring the fan-favorite Ada Wong. While not officially announced by Capcom yet, a known leaker called Dusk Golem has recentlypredicted thatSeparate Wayswill be outbefore the end of the year. Separate Ways was popular with fans, so it seems likely that it will return for the remake, but nothing official has been announced at the time of this writing.

While fans speculate more about expansions for current games, there’s still the chance of newResident Evilremakes appearing in the future, and all eyes are turned toResident Evil 5. The entry was once the best-sellingResident Evilever made, with over 13.5 million units sold across all platforms (including re-releases, such as the Gold edition), soaResident Evil 5remakecould certainly be profitable for Capcom.

Resident Evil 4is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
