Summary
Rockstar has inadvertently hinted at a PC port ofRed Dead Redemptionbeing on the horizon. Specifically, a clear reference to the PC version of the firstRed Dead Redemptiongame has been dug up from one of the company’s websites.
May 18 will mark the 14th anniversary of the critically acclaimed Western action adventure. Back in August 2023, Rockstar finally treated the game to a re-release for modern platforms. But thatRed Dead Redemptioncomeback was limited to the Switch and PS4, much to the annoyance of the PC gaming crowd.

Nine months later, it would appear that the PC port of the game may at last be on the horizon. That’s suggested by a product blurb dug up from the Rockstar Launcher website by Twitter user and long-time leaker Tez2. The description is part of a JSON file that’s still not visible on the website’s frontend, but clearly referencesthe firstRed Dead Redemption, with the name of its key being “RDR_ProductPromotion_Intro_Body.” Paired with this reference is a succinct description of the hit 2010 game, which ends by stating it is “now playable on PC.”
Aside from pointing at another re-release ofRed Dead Redemption, the newly leaked blurb also suggests that the PC version of the game may be content-complete, as it explicitly states that theUndead Nightmarestandalone expansion is part of the yet-to-be-announced package. If the game’s 2023 Switch and PS4 versions are any indication, the purported PC port will presumably also include theRed Dead RedemptionDeadly Assassin Outfit add-onand other minor DLC packs that Rockstar put out over the years.

Given the timing and contents of this leak, theRed Dead RedemptionPC port announcement may be imminent. If Rockstar were to use this purported re-release in a commemorative manner, then the official confirmation of its existence may arrive on or around this Saturday, May 18, which will mark the game’s 14th anniversary.
The current prospects of the game’s long-overdue PC port remain unclear. While PC gamers have long been asking for a chance to play it, its recent console re-release has been met with a polarizing reception from the fandom, as underlined by the fact thatRed Dead Redemptionended up being review-bombed. Many fans participating in this pushback said they did so out of frustration over the lack of the game’s much-requested remake.
