The Heroes In A Half Shell could be joined by another team of teenage Saturday morning do-gooders inFortnitesoon, at least according to the latest rumor shared on the Xbox Era podcast. Co-host and gaming rumor hunter Nick “Shpeshal Nick” Baker claimed that Epic is planning to introduce theoriginalMighty Morphin Power Rangersteamas playable characters “soon.” Baker is still uncertain about some of the finer details, like when exactly this crossover will happen or if fan-favorite Tommy Oliver will appear in his Green or White Ranger personas.
The Power Rangers Could Morph Their Way Into Fortnite Soon
ThePower Rangersfranchise has a rich history with video games, especially during the originalMighty Morphinera. There has been a minor resurgence of sorts in the past few years, with 2018’sPower Rangers: Battle for the Gridfeaturing its own crossover thanks toRyu and Chun-Li ofStreet Fighterfameappearing as guest fighters - complete with their own original Ranger forms to boot. Fans have also paid tribute to the Teenagers with Attitude in numerous other games, modding Ryu’s Ranger costume intoStreet Fighter 6and even building Megazord-inspired spaceships inStarfield.
The rumors surrounding the original Power Rangers being added toFortniteare still just that, so players eager to blast their way across the island as the Mighty Morphin heroes of old should stay skeptical for the time being. That being said,Power Rangersisn’t too dissimilar from some otherfranchisesFortnitehas crossed over with, and it contains a massive cast of characters that Epic could mine for future skins should the original six prove successful. If anything else, this rumoredFortnite/Power Rangerscollaboration could be a fun way to hold fans over until Jonathan Entwistle and Jenny Klein’s reboot launches sometime next year.
