The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis chock-full of challenging puzzles that players must solve either to progress the story or to unlock a hidden area in a dungeon. Most puzzles in the game tend to have pretty straightforward solutions, but there are a few exceptions.

As part ofSkyrim’sDragonbornDLC, players must travel to Solstheim and uncover the reason why some of the island’s inhabitants are acting strangely. Toward the climax of the questline, the Dragonborn will need to travel to Apocrypha,Hermaeus Mora’s dominionin Oblivion, and find and confront Miraak, the first Dragonborn. In order to do this, however, they will need to solve thebook puzzleduring the"At the Summit of Apocrypha"quest.
How To Start The At The Summit Of Apocrypha Quest
Once players have completed the main quest,“The Gardener of Men,“and unlocked all three words ofthe Bend Will Shout, the “At the Summit of Apocrypha” quest will begin. In this quest, players will need to return to Apocrypha to confront Miraak. This can be done by opening theBlack Book: Waking Dreams while in Solstheim.

Upon returning to Hermaeus Mora’s domain, players will need to navigate through a series of confusing rooms in order tofind and defeat Miraak. In the “Chapter V” room, a puzzle involving four books must be solved, but in order to solve it, players will first need to acquire the four books scattered throughout each area. Thankfully, the only way to reach the “Chapter V” room is to first collect the books, as doing so opens the way forward.
How To Solve The At The Summit Of Apocrypha Book Puzzle
In the “Chapter V” room, the Dragonborn will be faced with four pedestals on which the books they collected can be placed. Each book corresponds with one particular pedestal, so players will need to figure out where each book needs to go in order to solve the puzzle. Thankfully, the image on each pedestal provides a pretty big hint as to which book needs to be placed there.
Once all books have been placed in their corresponding places, the Dragonborn will be free to approach the pillar center of the room and interact with theChapter VI bookto progress the quest.
