Topher Grace recently joked about returning to the universe ofSpider-Manby reprising his role as Eddie Brock/Venom. For those who don’t know, the star ofThat ’70s Showis also known in the comic book world for playing the iconic supervillain Venom in Sam Raimi’s thirdSpider-Manfilm.

Many fans consider Grace’s portrayal of Venom to be forgettable, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the actor’s fault because he may have just been following the script. Many fans don’t like the look they went with for Venom because he has a very similar look toSpider-Man, just with a different face and color palette. Many fans point to the Venom from the comics, who morphs into a different shape in a similar way toBruce Banner’s transformation into the Hulk.

Regardless of where fans stand on the handling of Venom in that Raimi’sSpider-Man 3(or any of the other villains, characters, and dance scenes), the actor made light of a potential return to the character by responding to a question on Reddit. WithSpider-Man: No Way Homeexpected to involve the multiverse and versions of characters from pastSpider-Manfilms, Grace proposed a scenario for how his version of Venom could be involved in the madness. Of course, his imagined scenario also included a showdown with Tom Hardy’s Venom.

Unless there’s an off-chance of his Venom making smallNo Way Homecameo, one can see that Grace’s comments were clearly made to be a joke The actor jokes about coming in with other members of the Sinister Six, beating up Tom Hardy’s Venom, having Aquaman andBen Affleck’s Batmancome into the Marvel universe, Han Solo’s ghost returning, and Eve fromWall-Epulling up for a battle.

This plot itself sounds so ridiculous that some fans may actually want to watch that made-up film in place of anotherSpider-Man 3or thecanceledSinister Sixmovie. It’s really good to see Grace not take the criticisms of his Venom too hard, as that movie is often critiqued, roasted, and ‘memed’ for how much it let down millions of Marvel fans around the world.

Fans don’t have to wait too much longer to find out what will actually happen in theupcomingSpider-Man: No Way Home. December is right around the corner and fans will finally be able to see the film that is being hyped.

Spider-Man: No Way Homewill be in theaters on December 17th, 2021.
