How to Arm Companions
To equip a companion with a particular weapon inStarfield, players shouldinitiate a gear trade with them. Once the trade is complete, they can access their inventory, hover over the desired weapon, and press the Y button toassign it to the companion. It’s important to note that the weapon must be in the companion’s inventory for this method to be effective.
For those who are unfamiliar, trading weapons inStarfieldworks similarly tounloading inventory items. Players can approach a companion and press the A button to initiate a conversation. From the dialogue menu, they should select"Trade Gear.“Then, using the left trigger (LB) to open the personal inventory, players can press A on any item to trade it.
How to Fix Companion Not Using Assigned Weapon
If a companion is not using the assigned gun, it indicates that they have depleted their ammunition. This can be resolved byproviding the companion with at least one round of ammo for that specific weapon. Additionally, it is recommended to equip them with an infinite gun, such as aCutter, to ensure they never run out of bullets again.

How to Change Companions’ Outfit
