TheNinja Gaiden Master Collectionseeks to combine all theNinja Gaidenexperiences into one package, but it isn’t coming without a few upgrades. Notably, fans have been wondering how the next generation consoles would play these games, and whether or not they’d be able to reach the new, gold standard of 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. Just a few short months before the official release of the collection, Team Ninja has come out publicly to confirm what most fans suspected about its resolution and frame rate, but offered up more surprising information as well.
TheNinja Gaiden Master Collectionwill be available on numerous consoles, including PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. As these consoles are all very different from one another, there are bound to be some differences in performance, but it seems as though this won’t be the case with many of them.

In the tweet, Team Ninja confirms thatNinja Gaiden Master Collectionruns at 4K resolution and 60 FPS on PS5, PS4 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One X, and PC,corroborating the recentNinja Gaidenlistingthat claimed the same thing. They continue to explain that the resolution will be dynamic depending on what’s happening on screen, so intense moments in the game may be rendered at a slightly lower resolution in order to maintain framerate. This includes all of the next generation consoles but also the current generation’s console upgrades like the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X. Obviously, it will require a powerful enough PC to run the game at these specs on that platform.
Notably, nothing is mentioned about the base PS4, the Nintendo Switch, or the base Xbox One. More likely than not, these systems just aren’t capable of running the game at these high standards, so they’ll probably be capped like most games of this generation. If it’s like before, then the PS4 and Xbox One versions could becapped at 30 FPS and 1080p resolution. Until Team Ninja makes an official statement or the game is released and players can test it for themselves, there’s really no way to know how it will perform on these consoles.
With that said, mostNinja Gaidengames in the franchise’s historyhave run at 60 FPS even if they had to sacrifice resolution to do it. Should Team Ninja take that approach, it is possible that the other consoles will all still reach this benchmark by falling short of the others. It’s only a few more months beforeNinja Gaiden Master Collectionreleases, so fans will be able to see for themselves soon enough.
Ninja Gaiden Master Collectionreleases on June 10th for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
