TheYoung Avengersscene at the end ofThe Marvelsmay not have been the studio’s original vision, according to Ms. Marvel actor Iman Vellani.

The Marvels' ending scene featuresHailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishopas she enters her apartment to find Vellani’s Kamala Khan. Khan, revealing that she has access to all of S.A.B.E.R.’s information on other young heroes, tells Kate, “I’m putting together a team.” The teaser paid homage to 2008’sIron Manand the MCU’s first-ever post-credits scene. In an interview withSlash Film’s Ethan Anderton, Vellani revealed that the scene underwent numerous changes and even originally featured other characters. Vellani said, “I will not say which characters, but there were more characters.” According to theMs. Marvelstar, the scene was the last shot. In addition to characters being cut from the teaser during production, Vellani also admitted her disappointment in parts of her scene with Steinfeld being left on the cutting room floor. “Hailee and I got along so well. She’s such a fun human to talk to. And honestly, our back and forth, our banter was really funny and I wish they kept some of that in there,” she told Anderton. However, overall, Vellani is thrilled about her part in theYoung AvengersMCU origins, saying she felt honored to be the one bringing the iconic team together.

Maybe fans will get an extended cut featuring the Kate and Kamala banter in the future, but concerning the other Young Avengers that were cut from the teaser, fans may never know. Some fans think it may have been Cassie Lang, given the nod to “Ant-Man’s Daughter,” played by Kathryn Newton. Regardless,The Marvelsteaser seems to be a beacon of hope in the current Marvel flop era, and a new team to root for may be exactly what the MCU needs in the wake of its box office struggles andthe recent Jonathan Majors scandal.

Do these newcomers have what it takes to get box office numbers back up toAvengers: Endgamelevels? Although there is currently no officialYoung Avengersfilm or series, fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for Disney to make an official announcement.
