The first season of Netflix’sThe Witcherwas meant to give each of its protagonists a well-deserved introduction for newcomers to the franchise, who might have not been familiar with the tales of Geralt of Rivia. This means fans ofThe Witcher’s lore have plenty of source material, and so do dedicated cosplayers.
One cast member to get a noticeable upgrade fromherWitcher 3iteration was definitely Yenneferof Vengerberg, even despite her game personality already being somewhat different from her book counterpart. That said, every single Yennefer has that Aretuza beauty going for her and with video game Yennefer being the most iconic representation, she’s also the go-to option for cosplay.

Thanks to the magic of contact lenses and her own genes, model and cosplayer Katerina Marie nails down Yennefer’s two most outstanding physical attributes, those being her piercing violet eyes and dark hair, all covered in the sorceress’ signature default dark costume, not the DLC one. All things considered, Katerina’s features are certainly more suited to the video game Yennefer rather thanAnya Chalotra’s portrayal of the character.
That last part perhaps isn’t much coincidence since Yennefer’s likeness was originally meant to be taken from Polish model Klaudia Wrobel, at least until developers opted to give her some more mean-looking features that suited her in-game personality far better. Meanwhile,the Yennefer in Andrzej Sapkowski’sWitchernovelsis supposed to be quite short and while just as beautiful, her thin lips are perhaps the biggest departure from the game and television look fans have come to know.
Netflix’s Yennefer was last was seen in the season one finale during the battle of Sodden Hill, and judging fromThe Witcher’sseason two teasers, she clearly didn’t escape the battlefield unscathed. Since Yennefer is currently being held captive - most likely - by the Nilfgaardian Empire, it’s hard to imagine her going back to the fancy outfits she had in season one for a while, so maybe she could end up dressing up just like inThe Witcher 3for a more battle-ready look.
While season two will likely start off with Geralt assuming custody and training duties with Ciri, it’s hard to think he won’t go looking for his beloved Yennefer at some point, although it’s hard to factor in how the Wild Hunt come into play here. At leastWitcherfans now know filming is already done for the show, so all there is left to do is wait for Netflix’s bingeable gifts.
