The following article contains spoilers forThor: Love and Thunder.Thor: Love and Thunderis off to a great start at the box office, but Disney knows selling movie tickets is only a part of the MCU equation. So, since the giant screaming goats from the trailers are among the most meme-worthy things in the movie, anyone can now own a pair of Thor’s trusted allies.
The screaming goats, Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder, are just further proof of Taika Waititi’s desire to dive deep into the source material, as the pair find their origin inThor Annual #5(1976), with that being just one out of manyThor: Love and Thundereaster eggs taken straight from Marvel Comics. Likemost elements in Thor’s storythough, these are actual mythological references, in this case to Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr, the goats that do the rough work of pulling the Norse god’s chariot.

Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder look quite different in plus form, though the toys’ eyes do capture a real goat’s expression with that extra bit of comic book flair. It’s hardly surprising to see them land their own plushie, as the goats were deemed charming enough to get their ownThor: Love and Thunderposters and possiblyjoin the pantheon of best MCU pets. These lovable goat plushies are being sold directly by Disney as a full set, with each tiny goat being 6 2/3” tall and currently going for $34.99, although sadly they lack any screaming abilities.
In the film’s trailers, Korg shows his concern over how loud Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder are, and they do provide a good amount of comic relief as just a tiny part of the film’s absurd comedy. Besides these adorable plushies,Thor: Love and Thunderhas also brought with it the usual batch of action figures and LEGO sets. The latter even reveals some key aspects of the movie, such as Gorr the God Butcher’s changed look from the comics.
In a way, Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder represent the levels of silliness thatThor: Love and Thundersometimes reaches, as the two goats are perfect to bring out Thor’s more playful and aloof side. After all,Chris Hemsworth’s Thorseems to act somewhat differently throughout the entire film, with the character sometimes coming off more immature than in past entries while also making room for some very emotional scenes with Jane Foster, a.k.a. the Mighty Thor.
It’s unclear if Thor will keep the goats in the future, but what is sure is that there’s more Thor Odinson on the way.Thor: Love and Thunder’s post-credits scenesalready set up what could be Thor’s next adventure, with more gods coming along.
Thor: Love and Thunderis now playing in theaters.
