Hide the explosives-Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, the latest installment in Gearbox Software and 2K Games’Borderlandsfranchise, has officially gone gold.“Going gold” means that the title’s master disc has been developed, which is the disc that will become the standard for all the physical discs printed and shipped to retailers. This doesn’t mean that the game is completely finished, of course, as is common in the age of digital downloads and day one patches. It does mean thatTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsis ready for its release next month, which means that fans are getting excited to dive back into Tina’s crazy world.RELATED:Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Reveals Graveborn and Spore Warden ClassesKeeping with theDungeons and Dragonstheme of the game, the officialTiny Tina’s WonderlandsTwitter page revealed the news with a D20 roll. The die is rolled as a natural 20, there’s a celebration, and the announcement is revealed.
This comes right afterall the available classes inTiny Tina’s Wonderlandshave been revealed, which are all themed around fantasy tabletop games. Since Tina will act as the narrator of the game and essentially play as Dungeon Master, it’s only too fitting to have ridiculous classes like the Brr-Zerkers and Graveborn. WhileBorderlandshas always been known for its sense of humor, you can bet that this will be the most ridiculous title in the franchise yet.
Tiny Tina was a natural pick to headline her own game. She was first introduced inBorderlands 2and the mentally unstable 13-year-old soon became a fan favorite. That was mostly due to her explosives expertise and the fact thatTiny Tina is insanely quotable, thanks to a clever script and some fantastic voice acting from Ashly Burch (the writer and actor fromMythic Quest, who also voiced Aloy fromHorizon Zero Dawn).
Borderlands 2’s acclaimedTiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon KeepDLC really showcased the character and seems to be the basis for this spin-off title, as Tina took on the role of ‘Bunker Master’ in it and narrated the absurd adventures. The same will happen inTiny Tina’s Wonderlands, andfans are hoping it keeps a lot from the acclaimed DLC. Tina also appeared inBorderlands: The Pre-SequelandBorderlands 3,where she’s revealed to be hanging out with Brick and Mordecai from the first game. While she appears as a 20-year-old inBorderlands 3she’ll be back to a teenager in this title, so expect the humor to be appropriately juvenile.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandswill be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox X/S on March 25th.
