There was a five year gap between the release ofThe Elder Scrolls 4: OblivionandThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, butSkyrim’s been out for 10 years withThe Elder Scrolls 6still nowhere in sight. Bethesda is currently busy developing its open world sci-fi gameStarfield, and it’s expected to finally tackleThe Elder Scrolls 6at some point after that game is finished. Very little is known aboutThe Elder Scrolls 6and Bethesda’s plans for it in an official capacity, but Todd Howard recently teased some ways that the game may improve onSkyrim.
In an interview with IGN,Todd Howardteased thatThe Elder Scrolls 6could have more “interactivity” with its gameplay systems when compared toSkyrim. “There are a number of parts of [Skyrim] where we don’t go deep enough, where it’s a veneer in terms of its interactivity,” Howard sign in the IGN interview. Howard also teased thatThe Elder Scrolls 6could have improved AI and fans may notice some upgrades when it comes to NPC interactions in general.

If nothing else, a freshElder Scrolls 6teaser could give fans more to work with when it comes to crafting theories about what the game will entail. So far, the prevailing theory is thatThe Elder Scrolls 6will be set in Hammerfell, though nothing official has been announced in that regard.
Optimstically,The Elder Scrolls 6release dateis likely not going to come until 2025 at the earliest, and so fans have a long wait ahead of them. While they wait, they can check out theSkyrim Anniversary Editionthat’s set to launch soon as well asStarfieldwhen it releases next year.
