When creating theUnchartedgames, Naughty Dog was able to use some advanced technology to narratethe story of Nathan Drake. Druckmann reveals that their approach when they first started the franchise was to “capture the feel of a summer blockbuster on the controller.” They studied various film franchises likeIndiana Jones,Mission Impossible, andDie Hardto replicate the successful formula. However, when bringing theUnchartedfranchise to cinema, the creators would have had to go the opposite route and study the games to ensure that things were accurate.

Qizilbash was quite impressed with the fight sequence on the pirate ships, which fans have seen a few glimpses of inthe officialUnchartedtrailer. The hand-to-hand combat, in his opinion, was quite well done. Holland, on the other hand, revealed that the sequence, and many others, were replicated from the games. “There are moves in the film, which are stolen straight from the games,” he confirmed. While the actor speaks, several side-by-side clips from the games and the film play out, which point out the obvious similarities.

The one scene they all agree on is theepicUnchartedplane scenewhere Drake is seen hanging off of loose cargo in midair. It is perhaps one of the few scenes that anyone who has playedUncharted 3: Drake’s Deceptionwill immediately recognize. Druckmann spoke about bringing that scene to life in the game and how it was a thrilling experience. But, having to transform that interactive scene into a film was obviously a challenge, but Druckman believes that the movie “pulled it off.”
