Summary

Black Pantheris aMarvel Comicscharacter who has recently seen a surge in popularity thanks to his inclusion in theMCUfilms. That surge also made it possible for Cliffhanger Studios to create a buzz when they announced that they are working on a video game based on the Wakandan hero.

T’Challa isa king dedicated to protecting his countryand its people as an agile combat master and masked hero known as theBlack Panther. The character does not have an extensive rogues' gallery like other heroes. Most of his enemies are more interested in stealing Wakanda’s Vibranium than engaging in regular petty crime. Nonetheless, there are plenty of Black Panther foes that fans are hoping will make an appearance in his upcoming game.

6Doctor Doom

Marvel’s Most Powerful Dictator

Doctor Doom is a villain with many grudges in theMarveluniverse. He is one ofthe main threats to the Fantastic Four, and is often involved in fights with The Avengers. However, his role as the dictator of Latveria often puts him in direct conflict with other world powers, such as the Black Panther.

The vibranium found in Wakanda has always been on Doom’s radar, which has often forced the king to intervene in the tyrants' plans to steal it. Doctor Doom can pose an intellectual threat or a physical one, either as a huge boss in the game or as a background presence pulling the strings. Whatever Doom’s role is, it would be huge for the developer to include such a big name inMarvel’scatalog in a solo adventure.

Black Panther Achebe

5Achebe

A Cerebral Foe

As a Black Panther villain, there are plenty of names that will probably come to mind before fans think of Achebe. Often considered as the Joker of the Black Panther, the true origin of this smiling crook has never been confirmed. In the comics, it is suggested that the character was revived by the demon Mephisto after being stabbed and left for dead in a farm raid.

Achebe is not a physical threat to the Black Panther. Instead, he uses his brilliant mind and psychological tricks to take over Wakanda and lead an uprising in the country while Black Panther is busy fighting in the USA with the Avengers. Therefore, Achebe could make an appearance if the game focuses on a narrative split between T’Challa’s time as a superhero and his duties as a king.

Black Panther White Wolf

4Hunter The White Wolf

A Mercenary With A History With Wakanda

Hunter the White Wolf began his life as the head of the secret police in Wakanda. After it became clear to T’Challa that Hunter and his force were using excessive brutality in their duties, he disbanded the group, who then took on mercenary work across the globe under the command of Hunter.

Hunter the White Wolf is an expert in hand-to-hand combat and military strategy, with access to a vibranium suit like the Black Panther. He does everything that T’Challa can do, only The White Wolf is not afraid to get his hands dirty or hurt innocents in his pursuit of justice. As such, this villain could work asan early boss in the game to test a player’s knowledge of what they have learned as the Black Panther.

Black Panther Klaw

3Ulysses Klaw

A Physicist Who Needs Vibranium To Compete His Life’s Work

The character of Ulysses Klaw in the comics is quite different from the one seen in theMCUmovies. Klaw is the son of a Nazi who became a world renowned physicist who created a sound wave device that can displace matter. However, his further experiments with this technology require the addition of vibranium. Since Wakanda is the only place to find this material, Klaw has taken it upon himself to try and steal it using his sound wave machinery. Such attempts at thievery often put him on a collision course with the Black Panther.

The thieving nature of Klaw and his technology make him one ofT’Challa’s more traditional rogues. He may not have big plans for world domination, but his goals often lead him to Wakanda. This means that Ulysses Klaw is most likely going to make an appearance in an upcomingBlack Panthergame or other media surrounding the character.

Killmonger

2Eric Killmonger

A Mercenary With Family Ties To Wakanda

As the primary antagonist ofthe firstBlack Panthermovie,Eric Killmonger is possibly the Black Panther Villain that casual fans are most familiar with. Killmonger was supposed to grow up in Wakanda, but the untimely death of his parents forced Killmonger to be raised overseas and eventually become a mercenary. Eric blames the Black Panther for his parents' death and subsequent misfortunes, while also believing that everything the Wakandan king owns is rightfully his.

Such a powerful foe is one that could well serve as the primary foil for any Black Panther adventure, especially a video game. He is able to take on the hero in one-on-one combat, and can even outwit T’Challa in the political arena. Also, his recent exposure in the movies makes Eric Killmonger a very likely suspect to show up in aBlack Panthervideo game.

Black Panther Man-Ape

1M’Baku

Black Panther’s Main Rival

Long before Black Panther got his first movie debut, his primary nemesis was a character by the name of Man Ape. Now more commonly known as just M’Baku, he is one of Wakanda’s greatest warriors, second only to the Black Panther himself. This power struggle had already made him rivals with the king, but M’Baku was able to give himself superhuman strength and endurance by consuming the flesh of a white gorilla. With this newfound power, M’Baku has since sought to best the Black Panther in combat, a goal that has had the pair at odds for decades in the comics.

M’Baku has always been seen as Black Panther’s most prominent villain, so giving him a spotlight in the upcoming game makes perfect sense. There is also a sympathetic side to this villain, as he does care for Wakanda as much as T’Challa and is willing to defend it with his undying breath. That means an unlikely alliance between the pair could also be on the cards for the upcoming game.
