Marvel Snapis a great way for fans of Marvel Comics and card battlers alike to collect and craft decks around the multitude of characters available as cards in the game. With a solid mix of both heroes and villains, the game is appealing to fans of all variety of Marvel characters. However, despite having over 200 cards for players to collect,Marvel Snapis still lacking some iconic villains from the comics whose notoriety deserves representation.
Each season adds a handful of new cards players have the chance to earn through Collector’s Reserve drops, as well as a Season Pass card exclusive to players who purchase the premium tier. The latest season ofMarvel Snapadds a few new villains to the game, including MODOK as the Season Pass card plus Kang the Conquerer and Ghost as additions to Pool 5. While there are still plenty ofheroes missing fromMarvel Snap, there are just as many villains whose absence in the game thus far is surprising given their importance within the Marvel universe.

Thunderbolt Ross/Red Hulk
Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross is the general who oversaw the project that turned Bruce Banner into the Hulk, leading to an obsession with hunting down the newly-created hero and cementing his role as a recurring villain in theHulkcomics. He first appeared inThe Incredible Hulk #1in 1962 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, with his alter ego, the Red Hulk, first appearing inHulk vol. 3 #1in 2008 by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness. His obsession with defeating the Hulk would lead him to become the Red Hulk as an unmatched equal toBruce Banner’s Hulkin terms of strength, but with the military prowess of a United States general.
Prowler
The Prowler is a mantle worn by a few different villains and anti-heroes inSpider-Mancomics over the years. The first incarnation of the Prowler appeared inThe Amazing Spider-Man #78in 1969 by Stan Lee, John Buscema, and Jim Mooney as the technologically gifted teenager Hobie Brown, who used his powers as the Prowler to become a petty burglar. Another incarnation of the character would appear inUltimate Comics: Spider-Man #1in 2011 by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli as Aaron Davis, professional thief and uncle toMarvel’s Miles Morales. It was a genetically altered spider that crawled into the bag of goods Prowler stole from Oscorp that would give Miles his Spider-Man powers.
Gorr the God Butcher
Potentially one of the most powerfulvillains in the Marvel universe, Gorr first appeared inThor: God of Thunder #1in 2013 by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic. After Gorr is left abandoned by the gods his tribe worshiped, who could have saved his dying family, he vows to kill all gods and gains the power of All-Black the Necrosword from the primordial deity known as Knull. In his quest to kill all gods, Gorr becomes a recurring villain for Thor who he is unable to kill. Despite being a mortal, Gorr’s use of the Necrosword to slay numerous gods earns him the reputation as one of Thor’s most fearsome foes.
The Mandarin
First appearing in Tales of Suspense #50 in 1964 by Stan Lee and Don Heck, the Mandarin is the recurring nemesis ofIron Man in the Marvel universe. He is a master of martial arts and a scientific genius who wields the legendary Ten Rings crafted from alien Makluan technology. Each ring is worn on a different finger and grants the Mandarin a different ability, including the ability to rearrange matter on a molecular level and control minds using psionic energy, making him a force to be reckoned with for Iron Man and the other heroes he’s battled over the years, like Hulk, Thor, and Shang-Chi.
