After what can only be classified as a rough start for the title,Battlefield 2042now finds itself in a much better position. In the two years since the title’s launch, the team has successfully transitioned the title to a better live-service model along, while undertaking a hugely ambitious (and previously unheard of in the franchise) redesign of all the game’s 7 launch maps. With that process completed thanks to the recently relaunched Hourglass map, it’s time for the team to look ahead to the future. In speaking with Game Rant about what’scoming down the pike forBattlefield 2042, Bender had some interesting tidbits to share.

What’s Confirmed for Battlefield 2042 Season 6
Ahead of Season 6’s launch,Battlefield 2042kicked offthe new Redux initiative in August 2023. Along with some returning content from previous seasons, the Redux event includes new weekly events, game modes, and cosmetics. This will lead into Season 6 in October, which so far has confirmed one new map along with some new weapons and cosmetics. While concrete details on the included content in Season 6 have been scant, DICE claims that the new map included is a “chillingly unique new battleground harboring dark secrets.”
Possible Surprises in Store for Battlefield 2042’s Upcoming New Season
Sitting down with Game Rant to discuss the completion of the launch map rework,Battlefield 2042producer Nika Bender also shared some interesting tidbits regarding what fans might be able to expect in the very near future for the title, including the possibility of some interesting inclusions in Season 6. When asked about whether fans could expect new maps to include the oft-requested densely-packedurban spaces of previousBattlefieldmaps, Bender noted,

Speaking on Season 6 itself, Bender was obviously unable to share exact details, but it sounds like she and everyone at DICE are excited for what Season 6 holds. Fans will just have to wait and see, but it’s clear just how passionate DICE is aboutBattlefield 2042.Asked about what else is in store forBattlefield 2042’s future, Bender said,

I know, I’m being cheeky, I’m sorry. Okay, so I’m the one who always spills the tea and I’m struggling to really not tell you everything because I want to share all the amazing things with you. I really do, trust me. I would just like to go and take you through a tour of the whole thing, but I can’t. But Icantell you there’s a Season 6. There’s a lot of fun things in Season 6. I know we are all very excited.
