WhileSenua’s Saga: Hellblade 2very much follows a linear story and path that doesn’t allow for much freedom of exploration, there are a number of items that can be discovered along the way that are surprisingly easy to miss if you are not paying attention. Within this highly-anticipated sequel toHellblade: Senua’s Sacrificeare two different types of collectables; lore totems (Lorestangir) and stone faces.
InHellblade 2,there are a significant number of stone faces to find, all of which guard a tree that provides players with information on the context of the world Senua lives in. If players are looking forall Face locations inSenua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, then this guide will provide them with the means to do so.
How to Find Stone Faces in Hellblade 2
Players will encounter a number of stone carvings throughoutHellblade 2that resemble faces. While these are a charming cosmetic addition to the game, they also serve a purpose in providing a backstory regarding the lore of the Nordic world that Senua lives in. These faces are very well hidden and can be easy to miss, but once spotted, they can reveal a hidden path to a tree with the lore knowledge that is sought after.
Once a stone face has been recognized, players will simply need toapproach the face and hold the Focus button, which is LT or RT on an Xbox controller, or the E key for PC players. If the face is centered during the focus, it will briefly flash, revealing a path that was previously blocked by the stone face. Players will need to follow this path until they find the tree and interact with it the same way, by holding the Focus button.
All Face Locations in Hellblade 2
The stone faces inSenua’s Saga: Hellblade 2are one of two types of collectibles found in the game, along with the symbol-covered poles known as Lorestangir.There are a total of 17 Faces to findthroughout the game’s story, all of which will reveal a path to a lore tree when they are interacted with.
Freylaug (Chapter Two) Face Locations
In Freylaug, the second chapter ofHellblade 2, players will need to locate two faces to interact with the hidden trees in the game. Here are the locations of both of them.
Face One - Return Home
Shortly after obtaining Senua’s mirror and the combat scene that follows, Senua will venture through the ruins of a village, which includes moving through a hollowed out house with a corpse hanging in the middle of it.
As you exit the broken-down house, you will have the option tocontinue the storyby following the bridge on the right. Before you do this, take a left turn and head to the lit torch next to the house. Once you approach the torch, turn to the right and find the first face.
Face Two - Meeting the Stranger
After rescuing Fargrimr from the draugur in the Draugur Ceremony subchapter, you will be able to acquire the second and final face of chapter two in the scene that follows. Keep walking andfinding out moreabout Fargrimr until you reach the broken bridge, then look to your left. The face will be found there, but you may need to go down the short path to the left to get the right angle on it.
Rauðhólar (Chapter Three) Face Locations
In the third chapter, Rauðhólar, players are tasked with locating five faces. Here is where you can find each of them.
Face Three - Red Hills
As Senua begins walking with Fargrimr and the slaver Thorgestr, players will encounter a clearing on the left as they walk downhill which will have the remnants of a destroyed home. To find the next face, players will need to venture off the track and away from the two companions and walk to the other side of the house. On the opposite side of the wreckage is another stone face and a tree to go with it.
Face Four - Red Hills
As soon as you have found the third face and tree, turn back to the path and continue straight across until you come to the ruins to the right of the path. As you reach the largest ruined house, go past it and turn right until you find a small opening that Senua will need to squeeze through. Venture down the hill and into the clearing. You will find the fourth face on the left as you come down.
Face Five - On The Hill
After overcoming the challenges of the fog-riddled forest and returning to one of theprettier locations in the gameduring daylight, Senua can find the fifth face inHellblade 2by simply following the linear path. There is a puddle of water to the right as you venture along, and the face is on the left side, and can be easily spotted due to its size and the significant amount of red rock in the background of it.
Face Six - On The Hill
After completing the pedestal puzzle, which requires players to locate the two stone orbs and place them in their designated places, the path to continue the story will open. Once the way has been opened, players can find the sixth stone face on the right side as they walk down the new path.
Face Seven - On The Hill
After you complete another pedestal puzzle, this time requiring three orbs, you’ll have Senua venture downhill, which will require her climbing down two ledges. As you get to the bottom and begin walking again, you will find a white chalked ledge to the right, which you will need to climb. Climb the second ledge and look to the right to find the seventh face in the game.
Huldufólk (Chapter Four) Face Locations
In Huldufólk, the fourth chapter of thisvisually beautiful story, you will need to be on the lookout for four different stone faces that are hiding as you progress through the narrative. Here is where to find them.
Face Eight - Enter The Caves
You will find the first face of the chapter not long after it commences. As Senua enters the cave with her torch in hand, you will need to continue deeper into the cave until you drop down a white chalk ledge. Once Senua starts crouching due to the low ceiling, players should encounter the eighth face hidden in the wall on the left side.
Face Nine - Enter The Caves
Once you have lit the first blue flame in the caves, continue on the path it reveals until you drop down a ledge. Once down, follow the path to the right side until you find another stone brazier with a blue flame, and interact with it to douse the fire. Once the fire is put out, turn around, and you will find another stone face on the wall.
Face 10 - Enter The Caves
Continue to explore the cave until Senua encounters a ledge that she must drop down, which results in her being submerged in waist-deep water. Once you have dropped into the water, turn around and walk straight ahead. Within the back stone wall is the tenth hidden face.
Face 11 - Act of Sacrifice
There is a signficant gap between the tenth and eleventh face, which players won’t encounter until they escape the creature that is chasing them in the dark. Continue following the light path until you have traversed along the steep ledges and into a clearing. In the clearing, you will find some levitating rocks and an opening where some daylight is coming through. As you approach the opening, look to the left, and you will find face 11 in the rock wall.
Bárðarvik (Chapter Five) Face Locations
Chapter five, called Bárðarvik, has the final six faces for players to locate and interact with inthis epic action-adventure game. Here are the locations of these well-hidden collectibles.
Face 12 - To The Sea
At the start of the chapter, continue walking with Fargrimr and Thorgestr until there is a brief flash and the two men disppear, which is described as a “reward” by the Hiddenfolk. Before you see them again, you will need to continue along the path, which leads you in a curving downward direction. As you get close to the bottom of the hill, look on the right side and you will find another face.
Face 13 - Sjávarrisi
After the confrontation with the strangers, Senua will begin traveling with Astrior. Continue to do so and listen to the dialogue between the characters until you come across a narrow path that will need to be interacted with to squeeze through. Before you proceed, look to the right side and a little away from the path, as there is a hidden face there.
Face 14 - Sjávarrisi
After being separated from Astrior and solving the three-symbol puzzle to open the path again, continue down the newly-opened road and you will find a face on the right side. If you are getting close to reuniting with your companion, you have gone too far, but you may still backtrack so long as you haven’t gotten too close to Astrior.
Face 15 - Another Question
As players attempt to solve the three-symbol puzzle on the shipwrecked beach, they will also have the opportunity to grab one of the last hidden faces. The first of these can be found once they discover the middle glyph, which resembles a trident. Once you find it, drop down the ledge to the second beach area, pass the largest piece of shipwreck and pass through the blue fog. If it isn’t there, you will need to interact with the nearby orb to reverse it and open the way again.
Once past the blue fog, squeeze through the gap and interact with the 17th Lorestangir. Once you’ve done that, turn around and you’ll find the 15th face in the wall on the left.
Face 16 - Another Question
After the passage of the game that sees Senua walk underwater, players will find themselves on another beach that is being ravaged by a storm, with a village nearby. Follow the path along the village until you can turn right and head downhill, which will include a sighting of the sea giant you are on the hunt for. As you reach the third house on the right side, turn into its backyard to find the face tucked in the corner.
Face 17 - Another Question
After acquiring the 16th face, walk straight across the main path to find another path that veers to the left of the main road. Continue following this side path as it weaves around some walls and comes to a dead end at a house that has light coming from the inside. To the right of this house is a lit torch, which is accompanied by the final stone face on the left.
