There are a huge variety of new Runes inWoW Classic Season of Discovery, and someclasses share common unlock methodswith others. All classes have at least oneWoW SoDRune locked behind both Grizzby’s quest line and the new Waylaid Supplies rep, for example. But although Warriors and Warlocks both need to get a Soul Of The Sea to get a Rune, Warriors have a bit more work to do.
Warriors can only get the Soul Of The Sea, and activate the Idol of the Deep, if they acquire and use Gillsbane, a new Mace in SoD. This guide explains where to find the Gillsbane location, as well as what to do with Gillsbane once acquired to unlock the Quick Strike Warrior Rune.

Gillsbane Unlocks Quick Strike for Warriors
Once the Gillsbane Discovery has been followed to its end, Warriors will unlock the Quick Strike Rune. WhileWarlocks will unlockthe Shadow Bolt Volley Rune with their version of the Soul Of The Sea, it doesn’t require Gillsbane. Both are pretty powerful new Runes for both classes, when playing the DPS role, and are worth getting as soon as possible.
There are other ways to unlock these Runes for both Alliance and Horde, but for Warriors, Gillsbane tends to be the fastest and most reliable – especially for Human, Dwarf, and Gnome characters, who can easily get to Westfall from Elwynn Forest. Horde Warriors can head to Stranglethorn Vale and swim up the coast to Westfall to use the Gillsbane method.

How To Get Gillsbane & What To Do With It
Gillsbane is a unique Mace that can drop from a variety of enemies. Keep an eye out for this Green-quality Mace when killing mobs around Levels 10 to 20. In Westfall, where most players have found Gillsbane, the enemies that seem to drop Gillsbane most consistently are all Defias mobs. Consider holing up in the southern hills of Westfall, or around Moonbrook, to farm this item.
Once Gillsbane drops, equip it, and immediately head for the coastline – western shores or northern doesn’t matter. Once Gillsbane is equipped, playersneed to kill Murlocsuntil a Soul Of The Sea unique item drops. Warlocks must use Drain Soul on Murlocs to get this item, but they don’t need Gillsbane, while it can just drop normally for Warriors wielding Gillsbane.

This can take some time, so be prepared to farm Murlocs for a while. Just be sure to keep Gillsbane equipped the whole time, or it won’t be included in the loot table.
Once the Soul Of The Sea drops, head towards a new statue found underneath the water just north of the Lighthouse, which itself is found just about as far southwest as one can get. Bring the Soul Of The Sea to this Idol of the Deep and interact with it. This will spawn an elite Level 20 Horror of the Deep that, when defeated, will drop either the Quick Strike or Shadow Bolt Volley Runes. Depending on what level you take this quest, youmay need a small group to take it down.
