A fan ofThe Legend of Zeldaand thePokemonseries undertook a massive project by creating a Hyrule region with fan-made Pokemon concepts based on various creatures and characters throughout theZeldaseries. Their work was then shared on social media and subsequently caught the attention of a YouTube content creator who subsequently made a video about it for fans ofPokemonandThe Legend of Zeldato see.
Since the launch of the Switch, both fans of theZeldaand thePokemonseries have seen some major releases on the platform. From remakes ofSkyward SwordandPokemon Diamond and Pearlto the recent releases ofPokemon Scarlet and VioletandTears of the Kingdom, fans of Nintendo’s top-selling franchises have had plenty of content to sink their time into. The fan bases for both series sometimes overlap, which has led toPokemon-inspired machines being created inTears of the Kingdom, such asan Onix built out of Zonai devices. However, one fan decided to take this further with a Hyrule region and Pokedex.

On Instagram,an artist named blisu_art created a Hyrule regionfor a fan-mage concept calledPokemonLink Dimension which takes its name from the titular hero of theZeldaseries. His work was then covered on YouTube by a content creator called Metalfear4, who analyzed and picked out his favorite created Pokemon. Usingthe major races of Hyrule as a base, blisu_art created starter Pokemon based on the Deku, the Goron, and the Zora with the respective types of Grass, Fire, and Water. In addition, the four temple bosses ofTears of the Kingdomwere remade as Pokemon of various sizes, and the light-based guardians ofTwilight Princesswere represented as regional variants of powerful Pokemon such as Rayquaza and Zeraora.
As for the trainer character, blisu_art opted to use Link as the main protagonist In addition to a Zonai Horn Sword, Link had a Poke Balldesigned like a Zonai deviceattached to his belt. With a mix of Zelda creatures turned into Pokemon as well as pre-existing Pokemon that have Hylian variations, the work of blisu_art earned praise on social media. In the comments of Metalfear4’s video, somePokemonfans expressed hope that these concepts would be used in a fan-madePokemongame in the future.
With all eyes ona new Pokemon coming toPokemon Scarlet and Violetsoon, the hype remains high among Nintendo fans. Only time will tell if thePokemonLink Dimension project will have any future developments.
